ABOUT KATE

kate I believe if you can make people laugh, then you've already sold your product.

For over a decade I published my own humorous greeting cards and serviced over 2,000 accounts, including Barnes and Noble, Whole Foods Markets and Papyrus. After that I transitioned into licensing where I have designed over 200 products that are sold in Target, Cost Plus, Michael's and many independent retailers.

In my spare time I photograph funny Berkeley street art, coordinate an artist's support group, and write a blog on Greeting Card Design. I also volunteer at the local graduate theology school, collect mail art, and am active in the podcast and new media community.

I think one of the most important things we need to do everyday is laugh. Kids laugh about 400 times a day, adults only 15. What can make us laugh? Go see stand up comedy, visit some kittens, hang out with kids and pretend you're their age, play Twister, walk barefoot around the block, turn a cartwheel, have a pillow fight, do the hula hoop, roll down a hill, skip instead of jog, tell a funny story, play a board game, ask friends what the last joke they heard was, take an improv class, find a folk dancing group, play harmless tricks, dress up scary this Halloween and ask you friends what is the funniest movie they've ever seen-- and WATCH it!
